Modular camera device connected to an android app that makes your fridge smart

Under the theme 'Smart Home', my teammates and I came up with the problem statement - "How might we help consumers manage their food inventory better?" We performed some user analysis and identified their needs and constraints.

We built a product consisting of an attachable camera device which detects which food items are currently there in your fridge, and a mobile application which allows the user to leverage that information.

Our project consisted of 2 main parts:
1. Using computer vision to detect the food items, and sending the data to Firebase
2. Retrieving the data and utilising it for various functions in the android app

Main Features:
1. You can see what you have in the fridge at any point in time at a glance
2. Receive notifications when your food is about to expire
3.Auto-updates information, so you don't have to manually enter anything
